Learnt bout how tooth loss might affect an edentate person's diet. they are more likely to have lower intake of vegetables and fruits, nuts, fibre and meat because they can't chew well.
in the dietary advice section, one of the food recommended for them to eat is pate. not knowing what pate is, i went to search in an online dictionary. and this is what i found...
Pate:
1. The human head, especially the top of the head: a bald pate.
2. The mind or brain.
dumbstruck... why on earth they would wanna ask a edentulous elder to start eating human brains? is it because the texture is more mushy and more chewable? or is it way to get wiser or prevent alzheimer or dementia or watever?
turn out, pate also means a small pastry filled with meat or fish.. pf thought it taste horrible...so, ppl, start looking after ur teeth or u'll have to eat pate...XD
