a saturday of good foood

Chicken rice has always been one of my favourite dishes.
It reminds me of the afternoons when papa dabau-ed for me, reminds me of the sunday lunches in Banting with one of my bestest friends, reminds me of the scorching hot day, on our roadtrip to Miri last summer when we had lunch in the tiny shed by the roadside in the middle of nowhere.
Thanks to maha's story about chicken rice that makes me suddenly craving for it. And, we actually cooked it. The first attempt turned out pretty well. honestly, it's brilliant! thanks to this online recipe and Maha of course..

For the chicken stock, we're supposed to boil the chicken bones.. but, since we have limited number of chicken bones available and being lazy to remove the flesh from the bones, we just boiled the chicken and the chicken stock turned out to be pretty well..

After the dinner, Maha and I baked a honey marble cake. It looks really pretty before it entered the oven..

This is how it looks with the choco icing.. it's super yummy. i rate it 4.5!!

This is the third cake baked in the house this week. Imagine the amount of butter and sugar we consumed.. must have some self-control in the coming week, or, like what maha said, we will need to sleep in the gym...
